This is a world where massive amounts of data and applied mathematics replace every other tool that might be brought to bear. Out with every theory of human behavior, from linguistics to sociology. Forget taxonomy, ontology, and psychology. Who knows why people do what they do? The point is they do it, and we can track and measure it with unprecedented fidelity. With enough data, the numbers speak for themselves.»
Those days I’ve found some references to what’s called «Science 2.0».
Starting with this more conservative approach, to this radical one, being inspiring, to me they all present a fancy position.
Read this and this to get things into context.
What’s next? Are you guys going to state that P=NP because we can use “The Cloud” as the oracle in an Oracle Turing Machine?
Give me a break!

But it’s cool if take you it to Apple, because if your brokeass iPhone does become a refurb for some discount-seeking soul, Apple scrubs it to the bone, right? Nope. Using a standard forensic toolkit (or probably just some decent quasi-hacking), your personal data can be recovered from a refurb»

The whole research has always been inspired by showing how insecure biometrics are, especially a biometric that you leave all over the place,» said Karsten Nohl, a colleague of an amateur researcher going by the moniker Starbug, who engineered the hack. «It’s basically like leaving the password to your computer everywhere you go without you being able to control it anymore.»

The research team was able to obtain the card’s proprietary encryption scheme by physically dissecting its chip and examining it under a microscope. They then photographed various levels of its circuitry and used optical recognition software to produce a 3D representation of the entire chip. By examining the logic gates in great detail, they were able to deduce the proprietary algorithm, which NXP dubs Crypto1.
From theregister.
